AIMS Webinar Series
AIMS Webinars - designed with the practitioner in mind!
In the spring of 2009, AIMS unveiled a new avenue of professional staff development opportunities with its first webinar - "Never, Never, Give Up" - Interventions to Help Students. Those who attended were pleased with the information they received and the chance to ask questions of the presenters in the interactive web-based workshop on RTI.
Allan Davenport, principal of Hill Middle School, Naperville, with Loni Grossklaus and Sue Johnson discussed how RTI has been implemented successfully in their school. They also took time to answer specific questions from the audience. AIMS is grateful for this highly qualified team sharing their expertise with AIMS constituents.
AIMS plans to start the new calendar year by offering a series of helpful webinars soon after schools begin their academic year. September's topic will be Teaming, and will be presented by Mattoon Middle School. October will offer a webinar on RTI - presented by another network school team and November will showcase "Writing Across the Curriculum". AIMS Board member and national consultant, Barbara Kalina will present.
How do I participate?
The first step is to pre-register.
About a week before the event, AIMS will send a link that will allow you to test your computer for ability to join the webinar. It is important to check this out ahead of time so you don't miss any part of the webinar.
A few days before the event, AIMS will send the link to the webinar along with any documents that might be helpful to have on hand during the presentation. You may wish to print them out for the event.
The webinar itself will begin on schedule with a brief introduction of what to expect by the moderator. You will be shown how to utilize the Chat feature to ask your questions of the presenter. All that is needed is a computer with speakers.
After the webinar you will be given a link to the archived webinar and listen to it as many times as needed.
