Recognitions & Awards

AIMS respects and honors those educators who work tirelessly on behalf of middle-level education and is pleased to offer the following recognitions and awards.

 

NEW!  The Claude Mazzocco Award for Distinguished Service to Middle-Level Education has been newly instituted to honor Claude Mazzocco who devoted his career to helping young teachers become exceptional educators.  Educators who have distinguished themselves in serving middle grades students should be nominated for this special recognition.  Nomiantions are due at the end of November.

 

The Robert Knight Award for Distinguished Service to Middle-Level Education honors individuals whose work demonstrates an outstanding dedication and commitment to middle-level students and their education.  Not only are they outstanding middle-grades educators, but they also demonstrate a high level of service to the Illinois middle school movement and have made significant impact on middle-level education in Illinois.  Nominations are due at the end of November.

AIMS Mini-Grants are awarded to teacher teams or individuals submit the most promising curriculum proposal based on innovation, outcomes and feasibility.
